With the new year fast approaching it's time to look forward to new beginnings and think about what it is we want to achieve in 2018. Some of you may be thinking this is fantastic, and you can't wait to see the back of 2017 while others of you may be sad to see the end of the year as it has been a brilliant one.
The New Year can be a time that is both exciting, and sometimes a little bit daunting as well. Many of us have lots of questions running through our minds at the end of the year such as what does 2018 have in store? Who will you meet and where will you go? It can be easy to start worrying about the things we can't control, whereas the best thing to do is just focus on the things we can control and visualise the year we want to have - and watch everything fall into place.
Don't be afraid to let yourself be optimistic - what do you want out of life and work? Do you want to work less and bike more? Do you want to cycle on your own or get the whole family involved? What about exploring more of the world on your bike? Set yourself some personal biking goals for the new year, and start 2018 with an open mind.
It might sound a bit airy fairy but creating a mood board or writing down your hopes can be a great way to make sure you don't lose focus on your dreams and ideas throughout the year. How many times have you made New Year's resolutions only to break them within the first two weeks?! Putting them in writing or creating a scrapbook of pictures can help you to plan out 2018 to make sure it is everything you want it to be. It is also something to look back on throughout the year to remind you what you are working towards.
If you don't know where to start with your plan for next year, then think about these three things: your dreams, your plan and exploring:
What adventures have you always wanted to go on? What job have you always wanted? What people do you want to meet? Once you have these things clear in your mind, you can work out how to make them a reality.
How are you going to achieve your dreams? You need to push yourself out of your comfort zone to see where life really starts. Plan new experiences, new adventures and new projects into your calendar for 2018, and you may actually change your life.
The best way to achieve your dreams is to get out there. Explore the world around you, grab your bike and just go. Don't head to the same old track, try somewhere new, turn left instead of right and see where it takes you.
Whatever your plans for next year, keep Booicore at the forefront. Make 2018 the year you want. Stay positive, get out there and ride that new trail you always wanted to. Oh, and don't forget your changing towel robe or dirtbag when you do ;)
