So we’ve all been stuck indoors for weeks on end, and if you are anything like the team here at booicore, you are probably starting to climb the walls (not literally, but that is an idea!) We love nothing more than slinging on a booicore graphic tee, grabbing our booicore dirtbag and heading out on an adventure.
Well, although we can’t do that at the moment, we can still dream, can’t we? Seeing as we are stuck at home, what’s stopping us from planning our next adrenaline-filled adventure once the social distancing measures have been lifted? We can’t wait to be able to reconnect with nature while spending time with our loved ones.
There are so many extreme activities available to do in the UK, and so we’ve rounded up some of our favourite below - just in case you fancy giving them a go in the future too.
Activity One: Wild Swimming
Let’s start off with something that has a low fear factor (for most people) - wild swimming. Now, you may think we’ve lost the plot a bit here, after all, swimming outside may be classed as exciting, but is it a stretch to say it is extreme? Well, let’s just say once you pull on your cossie and dive into the chilly water, you’ll discover exactly how extreme it can be! Getting your whole family together and going wild swimming in safe rivers and lakes is a great way to get everyone enjoying the great outdoors, or if you are feeling adventurous you could head to a body of water on a mountain trail! Wherever you choose to go, make sure you take your booicore changing robe with you.
Activity Two: Zip Wiring
Now we are going to up the fear factor a little with zip wiring - a great way to soar above the beautiful landscape we have in the UK, like a bird. Zip wiring can be an amazing experience for the whole family, especially if you head somewhere like Zip World in Wales. Home to the fastest zip line in the world - you can travel speeds of up to 100 miles per hour (as long as you are over the age of 10!). We can’t think of anything better that our kids would like to do than lie forward and soar across the sky like a superhero - can you?
Activity Three: Caving
Never mind the great outdoors, how about the great indoors? Now if you are not a fan of confined spaces, then this adventure may be a step too far for you, but if exploring some hidden caves sounds right up your street, then pull on some overalls and head off! Obviously we wouldn’t recommend you head off alone, we want you to come back from your adventure after all, but there are plenty of local experts dotted around the UK who will take you on a caving expedition into the deep bowels of our earth. You may even have to crawl or paddle at some points, so be prepared, but whatever happens - we are sure you’ll have a thrilling time!
Activity Four: White Water Rafting
We happen to think that white water rafting is one of the most exhilarating activities available in the UK, but there is no need to be frightened of it - if you are a beginner your activity leader will make sure you don’t go into waters that are too rough. Rafting is a great way to appreciate scenery that you may not otherwise get to experience - so sit back and enjoy the view (while keeping a tight grip on your paddle of course).
Have you tried any of these extreme activities in the past, or are you planning to do so in the future? We’d love to hear about it. Connect with us on Instagram (search for @booicorestore) and share your adventure using the hashtag #booicoremoments
